We have arrived!

The picture shows what is the most expensive flag pole I have ever seen on a boat! The ships crane.
When we arrived into KK I put the flag’s on the bow rail as we do not have a flag staff set up up high on the boat and it was the only place I could think of until I had a brain wave this morning! We have a very nice, shiny, expensive, crane that even extends and is also up high on the fly bridge aft deck . So I thought that would make a great flagstaff and get the flags way up high. It worked so I gave myself a big pat on the back for such a brilliant idea especially as it was still only 06:00!

We arrived into Darwin and anchored in the Quarantine anchorage just before dark 18:00. Yah!
Just have to wait for all 1 document from the import agent to arrive at ABF tomorrow morning and we can then go to the Quarantine pontoon outside Cullen Bay Marina where we will be met by ABF and Biosecurity for our clearing into Australia process which normally takes an hour or 2, fingers crossed.

As tomorrow is the day before Xmas eve unfortunately the shops will be heaving but we have to do a bit of a provision top up as we want to leave Darwin and continue towards Sydney as soon as possible. If we can get everything done in time we are looking at departing here on Xmas day. Hopefully thats not too optimistic!

The last 3 or 4 days at sea has been a lot more relaxing than the previous 5 with zero fishermen and only the very odd ship but we are looking forward to having a couple decent nights uninterrupted nights sleep.

The boat has been great. No major problems just the odd thing that needs sorting but nothing that we need a trades person for which is just as well considering the time of year.

A beer or 2 to celebrate our arrival after a 1,650nm passage and off to bed early…

  1. You must both be well tired after that trip. Get some decent grub in you while you’re stocking up. Hopefully your crewman is a decent cook. Don’t forget to pick up a belated Xmas present for when you get home. Lol. Stay safe. Pete.
