Day 11 Bora bora-Vuda, Fiji
WOW, it's been a week since my last post. How time fly's.
To be honest very little has happened apart from the boys catching loads of fish. I've lost count of how many but I will try to recount them - 4 small marlin, 1 small/medium sized marlin, 6 or 7 tuna and a Pacific barracuda. If our cupboards and fridge/freezer were empty we would have eaten like royalty with all that delicious fish. But, we didn't need them so they all went back into the deep blue sea.
All the meat we have in the freezers has to either be consumed before we arrive or the Fijian bio security team will take it all along with any fresh veg, fruit, eggs, honey and an assortment of other food as these are not allowed to be brought into the country so we have been using up all the steaks and chicken we can BBQ!
As I mentioned, very little has happened on this delivery. We have been at sea now for 11 days and in all that time we have only come across 1 ship and we didn't actually "see" him we only saw him on AIS and radar. That has been it!
Our ETA into Vuda marina is now early morning on Wednesday 13th Sept, 2 days away. Clear in, clean up and either fly out that night or the next day and onto the next job.
I have always admired and wanted to deliver one of these Nordhavn's but never thought it would be a 76. What an amazing boat or more acutely - little ship. It's built like a tank weighing in at around 120 ton! 3 generators, 2 water makers, main engine and a "wing" engine, 2 autopilots, 3 VHF's, 2 radars, 5 driving stations, 2 hydraulic steering pumps, 7 fuel tanks totalling around 13,000lts of diesel, it's own mini petrol tank and pumping system for the tender and jetski, multiple fridge/freezers........ the list goes on and on.
Wish list....deliver a Nordhavn - TICK!
